Schefenacker 1nnovation Opts for EDI of indatex / crossgate
Starnberg, July 13, 2006 – Both the cross-company automation of business processes and the perfect sound require the smooth interaction of the partners or components involved. For this reason, Schefenacker 1nnovation, manufacturer of audio systems for automobiles, has decided to opt for EDI data exchange of indatex / crossgate. Within three months’ time, the most important partners both on the OEM and supplier side are to be integrated into this approach. Here, Schefenacker 1nnovation benefits from the expertise and the strong network of the specialist for data transfer and B2B integration.
Since 2004, Schefenacker 1nnovation has been on the market as a systems supplier in the sectors infotainment and audio systems. At the beginning of 2006, the company succeeded in winning a further renowned automobile manufacturer as its customer, namely Volkswagen AG. To optimise its internal and cross-company processes, the young enterprise therefore opted for the implementation SAP as the enterprise ERP backbone, as well as for the EDI service via the Business Integration Platform™ (B.I.P.™) of indatex / crossgate. In the future, thus, all previously paper-based order(ing)-relevant processes (such as invoices and delivery notes) will be exchanged electronically via B.I.P.™. In the initial phase, these will be as many as 1,000 messages per month.
In the process, eight plants of the VW Group alone, as well as the most important suppliers will be connected to the system. The connection of future customers and further suppliers is no problem, either, thanks to the synergy effects of the Business Integration Platform™. “With our decision in favour of indatex / crossgate we have intentionally opted for the leading European platform of the EDI sector. Thanks to the flexible, transaction-based model, only costs according to the actual usage will arise, while the expenses for a message do not exceed the order of cents. “The financial involvement of the SAP founder and large-scale shareholder Dietmar Hopp in indatex / crossgate has fostered the confidence of the custom-ers.
